Website management
First of all, I can help you to choose your service provider. It's actually best to do this after your site design is finalised otherwise you might find that they cannot provide the features you need.
If you already have a provider you might find you can get a better deal elsewhere as the hosting cost of web servers has come down dramatically in the last few years. I'm not tied to any web hosting firm and can therefore offer unbiased advice. There are some extremely cheap deals out there which are adequate for low-traffic sites.
Once the site is running I can advise on how to get it indexed by search engines and the possibility of sponsored links. I can also assist with preparing and interpreting your web statistics if necessary.
Another important aspect is disaster recovery. What happens if your web server crashes and loses all your data? Yes, it does happen. Not usually a problem if you have a small static site but if you have a content management system running off a database with a hundred pages and hundreds of uploaded files it could very well be. The best solution, and usually the cheapest, is to choose a service provider with automated back-up. If this is not possible, then I can do this regularly for you for a reasonable charge.
